Responsive Teaching Institute

As educators, we are committed to providing all children with learning environments that are equitable, accessible, and supportive. In an effort to support this endeavor, the WISD invites districts across the county to participate in the
2019-2020 Responsive Teaching Institute.

FOCUS: The institute will provide educators with the opportunity to critically reflect on their instructional practices as well as school policies, in order to identify those practices and/or policies that promote inequity. The speakers for the 2019-2020 institute will focus on developing capacity with building principals and teachers.
DATES: November 13, 2019, February 19, 2020, March 12, 2020, & May 6, 2020.
REGISTRATION: Registration as well as information about the speakers will be available September 1 at https://responsivemathematics.weebly.com.
LOCATION: The Responsive Teaching Institute is scheduled to be held at Washtenaw ISD,
1819 S. Wagner, Ann Arbor, MI 48106.

Past Projects

Intel Math Program

The Intel Math project is aimed at deepening teacher's content knowledge of math skills in order to improve instruction. The work consists of 80 hours of Intel Math training in the summer, and monthly continued learning in Math Learning Community meetings throughout the year.

In our first few years of participating in this program, we have worked with over 100 teachers across five districts from both Livingston and Washtenaw Counties.

If you have any questions about Intel Math, contact either Andrea Pisani or Jennifer Banks for instructional and content questions.
