Assessment Literacy Network: Teaching the Standards in a Socially-Just Classroom (series)
Many educators say they have high-expectations for student learning, but who gets to set those expectations? And how do we define and measure "success"? Before we can better center students in their learning we must learn how to de-center ourselves. Join the Assessment Literacy Network this year as we explore the connection between Culturally Responsive Teaching and Formative Assessment and learn more about how classroom assessment can be used a tool for social justice AND high academic achievement!

Educators new to this learning should plan to attend all sessions in the series. Those who have already engaged in the Assessment for Learning series or are current members of the Assessment Literacy Network may select to attend individual sessions.

The 7 Strategies of Assessment for Learning (self-paced series)
Are you looking for ways to make your classroom more student-driven? Join us for this three-part, self-paced, series as we explore 'The 7 Strategies of Assessment for Learning' and discover how to use the formative assessment process to foster student learning and agency! Participants may select to complete individual sessions or the full series. This series is entirely self-paced. No LIVE meeting attendance required.

Book Study: Grading for Equity
Join fellow educators to deepen your understanding of how traditional grading practices inhibit equity in our schools and disempower students and teachers. Identify ways in which you can change your own practices and policies to be more just and promote student agency. Participants should come to each session having read the assigned chapters. ​

Join us for this introductory session where we will explore the key characteristics of equitable standards-based grading and it's connection to student learning, motivation, and agency. Learn more about the prerequisite knowledge and skills you'll need to effectively shift to a standards-based classroom that better supports teachers', students', and caregivers' information needs.

Assessment for Learning Series
Engage in this intensive 6 part series to begin deepening your understanding and use of effective classroom assessments. Learn more about the formative assessment cycle and its role in supporting student agency in their learning. Learn how to use classroom assessment not only to gather accurate information about student learning but to also improve student engagement, motivation and achievement and create classrooms and schools that are truly learning- and student-centered. This series will include viewing presentations as well as independent work/application.
